Purposeful Discipleship

Thanksgiving

Revelation 4:11; Lamentation 3:22-23; 1Chronicles 16:34; Psalm 50:23; Psalm 103:1-5

  • Give thanks for God is good and His mercy and loving kindness endures forever
  • Thank the Lord for all the benefits He has blessed us with this 1st quarter of 2023. Thank Him for healing us, for redeeming our lives from every pit and corruption and for the gift of salvation given to us through Jesus Christ.

Purposeful Discipleship

Luke 6:40; Matthew 5:6; James 4:7-10; Philippians 4:8; Luke 9:23-27, Romans 12:1

  • We pray for a clear understanding of what it means to be a disciple as we become like our teacher, Christ Jesus.
  • We pray for desire for intimacy which stems from a place of hunger and thirst for righteous living.
  • As we journey through discipleship, may we continue to live a surrendered life, submitting to the full headship of Christ, in thought, in speech and in action.
  • We will continue to be diligent in craving whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, lovely and are of good report, those things with are virtuous— that we will choose to meditate on.
  • Lord, we confess that we will continue to daily deny ourselves and take up the cross to follow You diligently.
  • We ask for grace to present ourselves a living sacrifice, holy, and acceptable to God.
  • We pray that we become purposeful and prioritise our spiritual walk, through effective prayer life and studying of God’s Word. May His word continue to be a delight to us.

Spirit-led living

Isa 50:4; Psalm 119:105; Rom 6:14; Isa 49:24; Rom 12:9-16; Rom 13:11-14

  • We thank you for the tongue of the learned, through your inspiration and word of knowledge, we will know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary.
  • Father let Your living word become a lamp to our feet and a light to our path.
  • Awake us from every spiritual slumber we have entered, knowingly or unknowingly.
  • We choose to be alert in this season- purposeful and intentional in our walk with You.
  • Holy spirit, teach us the way of your status and to obey Your precept.
  • We cast off every works of darkness – we called them by name: un-forgiveness, lukewarmness, revelry, lust, idolatry, discord, we pull them down. We affirm that they would not have a foothold over us.
  • We put on the armour of light – the light of God’s word and truth shining in our life.
  • We submit to the leading of the Holy spirit, not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord with reverence.
