Breaking the 'Fallow Ground'

“…Break up your un-ploughed ground and do not sow among thorns. Circumcise yourselves to the Lord, circumcise your hearts….” Jeremiah 4:3-4
  • Lord, create in us a repentant and pure heart, and renew a steadfast spirit within us (Ps 51:10)
  • Give us a broken and a contrite heart, to turn from sinful ways unto righteousness (Ps. 51:17)
  • Be merciful to us individually and corporately and stir up in us repentant mind-set (Ps. 86:3-5)
  • Lord, give ear to our prayers and attend to the voice of our supplications (Ps.86:6)
  • By your Spirit, break up the fallow ground of our heart (Jer 4:3; Hosea 10:12) and deliver us from the thorns of materialism, greed, worries, riches and pleasures of this world that are preventing our hearts from obeying your command and your truth (Matt. 13:7)
  • Lord, circumcise our heart again and again and take away every layer or stronghold of sin, unbelief, infirmities, guilt, shame or fear that prevents the seed of your word from being productive and effective in our lives.
  • Lord give us the mind of Christ to see through your eyes and divine direction so that we may expressly hear your mind.
  • We pray for hunger to desire more of God, and to step out of your spiritual comfort zone.
