Praying about Life's Purpose.


 
Thanksgiving:

"...I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well..."Ps. 139:14
  • Lord I praise You that You have given me life and made me a new creation in Christ and thank You Father, that You have a special purpose for my life too.
  • Thank You that by Your grace You are carrying out Your purposes in the lives of all Your children - that Christ is all and in all and I pray that this may be realized in my life too.

Revelation:

  • Lord, help me to see life from your viewpoint and let there be a fulfilment of your plan and purpose for my life.
“.. Don’t copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect...” Rom. 12:2
“The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out” (Proverbs 20:5).

Surrender:
  • Lord help me to surrender to your Will and purpose for me.
“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails” (Proverbs 19:21).
  • I pray that I may willingly submit to the work of the Holy Spirit in my life – even on those occasions when I do not understand.. and ask that all that is of me may decrease and all that is of Christ may increase – until He is all in all in my life.. to Your praise and glory.
 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).
Equipping:
  • Enable and equip me to fulfil the plan and purpose that you have for me to do. Use each gift and every talent that You have graciously given to me, to Your praise and glory.

  • Help me to fulfil all that You would have me do and to be obedient to Your voice as I seek to carry out Your purpose for my life. May I rejoice evermore and pray without ceasing.

“…..who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.”(2 Timothy 1:9)

Timing and Waiting:
  • Lord, please help me to learn to quietly wait upon You and to rest in Your love. Give me the courage and wisdom to be still and to wait quietly, patiently and expectantly knowing that Your timing is perfect and that You know the plans that You have purposed for my life, even though I do not!
“For I know the plans I have for you"-[this is] the Lord's declaration-"plans for [your] welfare, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

Experience supernatural peace.

  • Is. 66:12 “For this is what the LORD says: "I will extend peace to her like a river, and the wealth of nations like a flooding stream; you will nurse and be carried on her arm and dandled on her knees.

1. Trust the Lord to extend his healing and peace to you, all that is yours and EP family like a river. 

2. Where there have been droughts, challenges, chaos; pray that you and every EP member will experience the Lord's 'Shalom' (peace that surpass human understanding).


3. Pray, that this season, 'the wealth of nations' will be extended to you and to EP like a stream. (Is. 60:11-18)


4. Pray that your life will both experience and signpost the signs and wonders of Jesus. (Ps. 71:7; John 12:9)



As we begin to wait on the Lord in fasting and prayer for 3 days this month (1st-3rd November) we want you to trust the Lord that you will have a new experience.

SIGNS | Experience the Gospel




"Therefore many other signs Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book;

but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you
may have life in His name." (John 20:30-31)

"And these signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new

tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not harm them; they
will lay their hands on the sick, and they will be made well." (Mark 16:17-18)


Please pray for yourself, your family, NCCS EP, NCC Streatham; NCC leaders and the Church in the UK.


Personal:

Thank the Lord for the joy of salvation and grace, demonstrated by the changing of water into wine at Cana. (John 2:1-11; Rom. 5:6-8; 8:1-4; Eph. 1:7; Titus 2:11)

Thank Him for gladness and Joy of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 13:52; Eph. 5:18-20)


By faith, believe the Lord that your best moments are not behind you, but ahead of you. (John 2:10; Luke 8:43-44; Joel 2:25-28; Amos 9:13-15)


Invite Him into the events of your lives; however challenging, embarrassing or difficult things may seem right now. (John 4:46-54; Eph. 3:20;Ps. 103; 147:3)


Pray for healing and restoration (Ex. 15:26; 23:25; Is. 53:4-5; John 5:1-15; Ps. 126:1)


Commit your family, ministry, career or/and possession into the Lord’s hands and trust Him for His provision and increase. (Ps 23:1,5; 31:19; John 6:5-14; Ps. 34:4-10; Luke 6:38; 2 Cor. 9:8)


Believe the Lord for the wisdom of the Holy Spirit, revival and restoration in areas where you have experienced instability, insecurity, confusion, stagnation or lifelessness. (Ps 32:8; 37:19, 23,39,40; 127:1-2; John 6:16-24; 9:1-7; 11:1-45)

Ask the Lord to confirm His Word to 'assemble' all that HE has promised to add to EP. Believe the Lord for increase and growth in EP.


Believe the Lord to open for us, doors of opportunity to preach the gospel.

Pray that EP will become attractive; as a place to serve Jesus, a place where prayers are answered and a place to grow in the knowledge of God's truth.


Ask the Lord to manifest His 'Breaker anointing' in our individual and corporate lives. Trust the Lord to break open 'gates' before His people and to lead us out into His freedom, health, fulfillment and purpose.


That the Lord will use EP to open the eyes of the blind, and to bring out prisoners from the prison of darkness (Isaiah 42: 7,16)


That EP will be connected to opportunities to affect our communities positively (Rev. 3:7)

BreakOut @ EP Prayer & Worship Night



The Lord has broken through my enemies before me like the breakthrough of waters.” Therefore he (David) named that place Baal Perazim (Hebrew meaning the Lord “bursts” or breaks through).           2 Samuel 5:20b

"After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise him for the splendour of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: “Give thanks to the Lord for his love endures forever. “As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated. The Ammonites and Moabites rose up against the men from Mount Seir to destroy and annihilate them. After they finished slaughtering the men from Seir, they helped to destroy one another.        2 Chronicles 20:21-23


This Friday, from 7—9pm, we invite you to join us for a time of praying & worship. We pray because we know that God hears us and because we desire to see results.  We encourage you to come and pray by faith, trusting God. 


Prayer changes the one praying because in prayer, you are in the presence of God as you lay before Him your complete self in confession and dependence.  There is nothing to hide when in quiet supplication. We are reaching into the deepest part of ourselves and admitting our needs and failures.  In so doing, our hearts are quieted and pride is stripped and we enjoy the presence of God.  James 4:8 says, "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you."

We believe that prayer also bring peace. "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus," (Phil. 4:6-7).

Come with expectation of His power for a miracle. We trust the Lord to manifest as 'the Breaker’ in your life and circumstances, through the power of the Holy Spirit. This Friday, as you pray and worship the King of Glory, we trust Him that the realm of HIS kingdom will break through into your natural realm. Your life will be transformed and will tremendously impact your immediate and external communities.

EP 'Pay it forward' challenge.


"Is this not the fast that i have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, and that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; when you see the naked, that you cover him, and not hide yourself from your own flesh? (Isaiah 58:6-7)

As you fast and pray, we encourage you to follow, during this fasting period, the biblical expectations of God.
If you could, we will like you to perform an act of kindness to someone or a people who have not earned such act of kindness. Preferably, someone you have newly met or a homeless person.

The purpose is to show the love of God during fasting. You could:
  • Give someone a gift
  • Donate clothing or canned food
  • Buy or pack a meal for someone in need.
  • Pay for the customer behind you at a food stall,
  • Help someone in need
  • Give money to a charitable cause.
  • Provide an act of kindness to your neighbour 
  • Act on Isaiah 58:6-8 by praying for people and helping out.
Remember to give the EP 'Pay it forward' card to the recipient(s) of this act of kindness. Do something nice during this time of fasting for someone you do not know. Ask them not to thank you but to also do something nice for someone else. No act of kindness is too small.

We can all make this world a better place.

  • Pray for the Lord remove hindrances and difficulties that are not part of His plan for your life.
  • Pray for revelation insight and grace for invention. 
  • Ask the Lord to bring you out of a 'narrow' place into a 'large' place (Ps. 18:19)
NCCS EP:
  • Pray that EP will become attractive; as a place to serve Jesus, a place where prayers are answered and a place to grow in the knowledge of God's truth.

  • Pray for wisdom and creative strategies to win souls for Christ
  • Pray that our leaders will be anointed with the Breaker's anointing, to break open, to set free and to heal (Luke 4:18-19)
  • Pray for our leaders to be greatly discerning to the heart of God and to walk in His truth.
  • That the Lord will use EP to open the eyes of the blind, and to bring out prisoners from the prison of darkness (Isaiah 42: 7,16)

Faithful in Stewardship

  1. Thank the Lord for the resources (Time, skills, ability, money e.t.c ) that HE has blessed you with.
  2. Praise Him as the 'Owner' of everything that you have.
  3. Ask the Lord for the grace to be obedient in stewardship and to faithfully utilise all that HE has blessed you with.
  4. Pray for EP Leaders for wisdom and discernment to faithfully use the human and material resources the Lord has blessed the ministry with.



  • Creativity:  (Deut. 8:18; Exodus 31:1-3; Matt. 6:24-27; Acts 9:36-42)

  1. Trust the Lord for the right skills, human connection, resources or abilities for wealth creation.
  2. Trust the Lord to connect you and every EP member with the right career, business, relationship.
  3. Trust the Lord  for the spiritual attitude to worship Him with your resources, and not to become a slave to what HE has blessed you with.
  4. Pray that the Lord will bless your gifts and abilities and cause them to make way for you.

  1. Pray for wisdom and a generous attitude towards giving.

What you need to know about fasting.


New Experience fasting focus:
  • EP members' individual and corporate season of New experience. (Isaiah 43:18-19)
  • To walk in power with God and have unprecedented favour with men (Genesis 32:28)
  • Massive harvest of souls, deliverances, healing and revival during EP’s eNSIGN Conference (Is.11:10)


·         Why should I fast?

  •  Fasting is a powerful and effective part of the Christian life (Matt. 6:16).
  •  Jesus taught that we can overcome unbelief through prayer and fasting (Mark 9:29)
  •  Fasting in the biblical sense is choosing not to partake of food because your spiritual hunger is so deep.

·         What are the spiritual benefits of fasting?

  • Help you to humble yourself before the Lord and to discipline the flesh (Ps. 35:10);
  • Help to concentrate on praying and studying the Bible and;
  • Help to be sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit (Acts 10:30; 13:2)

·         What does the Bible say about fasting?
  • David described fasting as a way to humble yourself before God (Ps.35:15);
  • Daniel fasted in Daniel 9:3.
  • Corporate praying: Joel 1:14; 2 Chronicles 20:3—4
  • Esther fasted to seek the Lord and the King's favour (Esther 4:16)
  • Jesus encouraged discreet and sensible fasting in Matthew 6:16;
  • Peter fasted and prayed prior to a significant revelation in Acts 10:30;
  • Paul encouraged married people to fast, with their spouse’s understanding: 1 Cor. 7:5

·         What time can i break my fast?
  • Either 3PM or 6PM is fine.
  • Caffeinated and energy drinks should be avoided if possible. They tend to leave your body craving for more of it.
  • Drink a lot of water (sips from slightly warm water is good for you)


·         What should i do while fasting?  
  • Fasting that is not diligently accompanied by staying away from sin, praying and studying of the Bible is nothing but a hunger strike.
  • We advise that you spend quality time praying about what new experience you desire from the Lord during this season and your expectations for the year 2016. (Jeremiah 33:1—3; Isaiah 30:21; Proverbs 16:3)
  • Please pray for a mighty move of the Holy Spirit during eNSIGN Conference 2016 (Is. 9:2-4; 11:10,12; Is. 49:24-25; Joel 2:28-29)
  • Spend time to find out what the Bible says about the prayer points you are presenting to the Lord so that when you pray, remind the Lord of what HE has said in His word concerning the situation(s) (Psalm 119:49)
  • Take time to pray with Tongues (in the Holy Ghost) as frequently and as long as possible (Romans 8:26—27). The Holy Spirit knows your needs more than you do and as you pray with Tongues, HE will intercede with you according to the FATHER's purpose. We recommend minimum of 15 minutes each day.
